About
Born and raised in Malaysia and now based in London, Alixe Lay (b. 1993) is a self-taught photographer whose work is rooted in the spirit of place. She first picked up a camera as a teenager, documenting the rhythms of suburban life, and later developed her voice while travelling as a young adult — drawn to the enchantment of unfamiliar places and the instinct to hold onto them. That early pull toward observation continues to shape her cinematic, emotionally attuned visual language.
With a doctorate in psychology and a multicultural perspective, Alixe brings a rare combination of artistic intuition, analytical depth, and strategic clarity to each commission. Her work is defined by its distinctive tone and an ability to move fluently between genres without losing narrative cohesion.
Alixe is a partner to Leica and Adobe Lightroom, leading regular workshops with Leica Akademie.
